The Estoc 1H R2 is quite simply the best move in the game. Not only does it pierce shields, but it is extremely fast, can combo into a normal stab, and even out-ranges spears/rapier pokes. Fighting greatswords is hilariously easy when you can just stand outside the range, and counter sweep between swings.

It has lower scaling and lower base damage than the rapier, and because criticals are much harder to get this time around, the whole "high crit damage" aspect of thrustings swords seems to be a lot less useful.
