Estoc has B scaling in Str at +10 solidly making it a Str weapon. If you want to do pure-physical damage then you want 40 str and 12ish dex. However, it also infuses pretty well. Con: Shorter reach, reduced base damage. Pro: Faster, lighter, higher critical damage. If you try to outrange someone with a rapier, you're setting yourself up for failure, imo.

The Estoc 1H R2 is quite simply the best move in the game. Not only does it pierce shields, but it is extremely fast, can combo into a normal stab, and even out-ranges spears/rapier pokes. Fighting greatswords is hilariously easy when you can just stand outside the range, and counter sweep between swings.

It has lower scaling and lower base damage than the rapier, and because criticals are much harder to get this time around, the whole "high crit damage" aspect of thrustings swords seems to be a lot less useful.
